Envy Photo 6255: Malware. Unable to print on MacBook Air

Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Printer was working fine on iPhone and MacBook Air.  One day I tried to print on MacBook ad a box came up saying there was malware and I could not print. It suggested I delete PDE from Finder. I did that, tried to print and it said Ii needed to install software.

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document to resolve this issue - A [software component] will damage your computer message displays when printing or while installing ...

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

 

To install the printer, use AirPrint as shown in step 2 of this document. 

While installing, under 'Kind', select 'Bonjour multifunction'.
