Restart Your Printer and Device:

  • Power off your printer and the device you're using.
  • Restart both the printer and device to clear any temporary error conditions.

Use the HP Smart App:

  • Download or make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app.
  • Follow the prompts to set up the printer.

Restore Printer Factory Defaults:

  • You can restore your printer to its default factory settings.
  • To do this, open the HP Smart app or Embedded Web Server (EWS) using the printer's IP address.
  • Navigate to the Settings or System tab and select Restore Factory Defaults.

Set Up Printer Without HP+ Activation:

  • During the setup process in the HP Smart app, opt-out of HP+ activation if prompted.
  • Select Self-Managed during the setup environment screen for regular printer setup without the HP+ subscription.

Using HP Smart App After Setup:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the network and follow the HP Smart app prompts to complete the setup.
  • Be sure to use the Set Up a New Printer option and follow instructions without selecting HP+ features.
