Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Installed the printer without problems. After half an hour all lights started blinking and got an error E9. After reinstalling a number of times I still get 'Printer configuration not complete' in the HP Smart app.
Hope someone can help because printer worked only for a half hour and have not been able to print somethin

@DNLC, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to use the printer. An E9 error occurs when a problem occurs during a printer firmware update.

  1. Set up the wireless setup again.

For more information, go to Wireless Printer Setup.

  2. Touch the Information button .

If the information page prints, the printer is back to normal state.

If the printer fails to print the Information page, it is still in recovery mode and needs to download the firmware again.

NOTE: During recovery mode, the printer automatically downloads firmware from the cloud. Leave the printer about 2 hours, depending on your network speed, to complete firmware download and update.

If the issue persists, uninstall the HP Smart app.

Click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Unfortunately, above did not clear the error. And I am still not able to print.

I fear something is wrong with the printer.

If the error persists, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
