I'm trying to scan and get this message that to use the product I need to download a WIA driver from installation disk or manufacturer's website.  I see no driver installation called WIA driver.  I've tried downloading updates and also uninstalling and installing the driver on HP site.  This has just happened...I've been scanning and printing prior to today.  I was also getting a lot of "printer offline" messages.  How do I download the WIA driver?

Hi,
From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.

Past the following command and press enter:

Spoiler
Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection

Now restart your computer and try scanning, may you see any difference?

It works once then doesn't and then occassionally.  When it doesn't work, it runs the scanner but does not complete, ie itHP_scan_error.png does not load the scan as a file.  I'm getting the attached error message.

I would suspect any connectivity issue to cause a such.

Please print a wireless test report by tapping the WiFi icon > the Gear icon and then select Print Reports.

From there select Wireless Test and attach a picture of the printed report, either on your reply or via a Private Message.

Cheers,

Shlomi
