Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My Officejet Pro 8610 is giving the phantom cartridge problem error. I am using all HP cartridges but it repeats the cartridge problem message. I'm trying to update the firmware but where it asks to select the Printer I'm using, it doesn't allow me to click it. I've tried both wirelessly and using USB. How else can I do this? The printer itself on Web Services says it is up to date.

@jknezek, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

If you cannot select the printer during firmware update it means it is already updated.

 

If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
