HO Rewards said my driver was out of date, went to update and couldn't

HO Officejet 7612
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I went to HP's site to update my driver, got most of it downloaded, but then 3 things wouldn't update.. They are: HP Update, I.R.I.S. OCR (whatever that is) and Bing bar for HP. The reason stated was that 'Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install.' The problem with this is, there was not anything else being installed at the time. In fact, when I first got this message I shut everything else down to ensure no other downloads were going on, but never-the-less, I still got this message. Does anyone know what is going on with this? I would appreciate feedback. Thanks.

@Bruski1

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

  • If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall printer Basic drivers from the link: Click here
  • If the issue still continues, install using the Windows Built-in Print DriverClick here

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
