Hi @TetraT,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

To change your HP MFP 137FNW printer's name on a Wi-Fi network, you can access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) and update the network settings. Follow these steps:

Access the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • First, ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Obtain the printer's IP address. This can typically be found by printing a network configuration page from the printer or checking the printer display.
  • Open a web browser on your computer and enter the printer's IP address in the URL bar, then press Enter. This will open the EWS.

Login to EWS:

  • If prompted, login using the printer’s admin credentials. Default credentials should be provided in your printer manual if you haven’t changed them.

Navigate to Network Settings:

  • Once logged in, select the 'Network' menu located on the left side of the EWS.
  • Click on 'Network Settings'.
  • If prompted, enter your password or PIN, and click Sign In.

Change the Printer Name:

  • Click on the 'Identification' tab within Network Settings.
  • In the 'Host Name' field, type in the desired new name for your printer.
  • Click 'Apply' to save the changes.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on to ensure the changes take effect.

Verify Changes:

  • Verify that the printer’s name has been changed successfully by checking the network settings again or looking for the new name in your network's list of devices.

Take care and have an amazing day!
