I woke up today to find the printer is offline only on my computer.  It says the driver cannot be found.  I removed the printer and went to HP.com to download the current driver.  When I clicked, it shows just firmware and when I clicked on it, it says Page Not Found.  When I call support the recording won't let me talk to anyone.

I understand your HP Color LaserJet MFP 3301cdw is showing offline on your computer, and the driver cannot be downloaded from the HP website. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check if the printer is actually online

Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your PC.

Print a network configuration page from the printer to verify connectivity.

Use Windows built-in driver

Go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners → Add a Printer.

If Windows detects the 3301cdw, it may install a generic driver that allows basic printing until the full HP driver is available.

Try HP Smart App

Download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store.

Add the printer via HP Smart — it often installs the necessary drivers automatically without needing the website download.

Clear old driver files

Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Remove old HP 3301cdw entries.

Open Print Management → Drivers and remove any old HP drivers to prevent conflicts.

Check alternative driver sources

If the HP website page shows “Page Not Found,” try support.hp.com → Software & Drivers → enter your printer model → select Windows version.

If full feature driver is unavailable, the Universal Print Driver (UPD) for Color LaserJet) can often work for printing and scanning.

Restart print spooler service

Press Windows + R → services.msc → Print Spooler → Restart.

This clears stuck jobs and can bring the printer back online.
