m4203
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M4203.  I have only had one difficult with it so far.  I would like to disable the sleep mode functionality completely.  The reason I want to do this is that once it goes into sleep mode, it loses connectivity with my network, and my PCs can no longer "see" the printer.  I have to go manually wake up the printer with the power button.   Any help would be appreciated.

See if there is a sleep mode setting:   set the sleep to off or never.

Access the printers embedded web page and set sleep to off or never.

Another problem is that when the printer wakes up it gets a different ip address than what it had before

If the printer keeps changing it's IP address then a change to the modem is necessary. The printer needs to be assigned a fixed IP address that is reserved and does not change. This is necessary on flex networks (multiple wifi booster / repeaters)

Assigning a fixed or reserved I add4ress is done in the modem as part of DHCP configuration.
This is done in the modem as part of DHCP configuration.

First get a network report from the printer so you know its IP address or Mac address
Log into the modem and look for the DHCP server. Find the IP or Mac address of the printer and make it a fixed IP address.
