Hey guys. I have a years-old printer in perfect working order, its model is the HP D110a, but when I started using it again, I noticed that, for example, when printing colored images, the photos or image in question that was printed has a darker tone. than what it really is. For example, if I print a red image, the print comes out in a very dark tone, which is not even close to being red, it looks more like a burgundy or dark brown. I bought new and original HP cartridges because I thought it could be the cartridges, but it's still the same. I ended up spending extra money without that being the problem. Could anyone help me? I remember that before there was an option to choose the color theme and I selected the "Vivid (sRGB)" option and the printout had perfect colors. Image that was printed and scanned, is not even close to being red (I have already made several prints with various profile settings and the problem continues):

Similar option that left perfect color printing:

Hi @Lincoln97,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Photosmart D110a might be having trouble with color calibration or profile settings.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check Color Settings in the Printer Preferences

  • Open Printer Properties: Go to your computer’s Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your HP Photosmart D110a, and select “Printer Properties.”
  • Color Management: Look for a tab or section related to color management. Ensure that “Vivid (sRGB)” or a similar setting is selected, as you mentioned that worked well before.

2. Run a Print Head Cleaning

  • Access Printer Settings: Use the HP software on your computer or the control panel on the printer to access the print head cleaning utility.
  • Perform Cleaning: Follow the prompts to clean the print heads, which can sometimes improve color accuracy.

3. Check for Color Profile Settings

  • Use Printer Software: Open the HP printer software and look for options related to color management or color profiles.
  • Set Profile: Ensure that the color profile settings match the type of documents you’re printing. Sometimes using the default or “sRGB” profile can yield better results.

4. Update Printer Drivers

  • Download Latest Drivers: Go to the HP support website and download the latest drivers for the HP Photosmart D110a.
  • Install Drivers: Install the updated drivers on your computer, which can sometimes resolve color issues.

5. Adjust Print Quality Settings

  • Printer Preferences: Open the printer preferences and look for options to adjust the print quality. Setting it to “Best” or “High” quality may improve color accuracy.

6. Check Paper Type and Settings

  • Paper Settings: Ensure that the paper type selected in the printer settings matches the paper you are using. Different paper types can affect color output.

7. Perform a Printer Calibration

  • Calibration: Some printers have a built-in calibration tool. Check the printer’s menu or the HP software to see if there’s an option to calibrate the printer.

8. Print a Test Page

  • Check Test Page: Print a test page from the printer’s menu or HP software to see if it displays colors correctly. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer or the specific print job.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Unfortunately none of these steps did not solve the problem, some could not even be done like the Driver, as the Printer is old, what else can I do?
