I've been successfully using my HP Deskjet Printer 2640 on my network for years, but recently it has gone offline and won't connect to the network. Here are the details of the issue:

Printer Model: HP Deskjet 2640Issue:

Printer is offline and unable to connect to the network

Symptoms:The power button is flashing continuously.I have rebooted my network and unplugged the printer multiple times.I attempted the troubleshooting steps by holding the power and WiFi buttons simultaneously, but the power button continues to flash without any change.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

1.Rebooted the network.

2.Unplugged and replugged the printer.

3.Followed the troubleshooting instructions for holding the power and WiFi buttons together.

I would appreciate any advice or further troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue. Thank you!

I completed the steps in the video and got the pint out page, but the WiFi button is now blinking blue  (power button is no longer flashing) and it’s not connecting to my network. When I use the HP software to ‘add a new printer’ it cannot find the printer to join my network, and my Bluetooth on my phone doesn’t find it either.

Bluetooth is only used by HP Smart to configure the printer.  Only Wi-Fi is used for printing.  Do not attempt to pair your phone with the printer.

Watch the reset video or perform the steps. After resetting, you generally have 2 hours to complete the setup. Decide if you want to connect the printer to the router or to print directly to the printer and bypass the router.

Many HP and other OEM printers have problems with the router when the router has two bands and both bands have the same name (SSID). Log into the modem and rename one of the bands. Alternately, contact your ISP and have them rename a band.

Or simply use Wi-Fi direct.

The latest HPSA supports 36 languages and can be downloaded here. Microsoft's AI assistant is in the latest Windows 10 and 11 releases and there are instructions here on how to enable the AI. Microsoft's AI assistant (Copilot) has a microphone button and supports natural language processing.

in the event you need to Wi-Fi reset the printer, watch this video.
Works for all 26xx

setup using WPS or the push button method is described on page 62.
Page 65 discusses Wi-Fi direct. This is useful if you do not have access to the router or you want to bypass the router and print directly to the printer.

there is a video here for the 2630

Let me know if you have a flex system (Wi-Fi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is much more complicated for routers.
