Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,
I need to connect my printer to a new Wifi Network, but the HP Smart app requires a password and I don't remember it.

I connected the printer to my notebook throughout the USB port and ran HP Smart.

When I chose the Network tab, almost all options have a Password Protected Feature. It shows a dialog saying that "A custom password has been set for your printer. Enter the password to access the "printer web interface".
I don't remember this password and didn't find anywhere how to reset the printer to factory defaults.

Can anybody help me?

Hi @luisfav,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We have to perform a Semi Full Reset to unlock the features of the printer/Reset the password.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted. -

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Hi @Elohi_NR.
I didn´t  find your private message. In my Inbox there are no messages.

I'm afraid I am searching in the wrong place, since I'm new to the Community.

Can you send me the solution again?

Thanks.
