I am also having this problem. It was not always there. A few days ago, I had to reinstall the HP driver software and the new installation had this problem.

HP driver software version did not change. However, now I have Windows 10 x64 latest release which was not the case a year ago when I first installed the printer.

It seems to me there is a driver compatibility issue with the latest windows.

Meanwhile, Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity

 

Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  2. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  3. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  4. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  5. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  6. Try to print.

I do NOT have a connectivity problem with the printer. The issue is the lack of color printing option. Please do not send the boilerplate response. It just delays a resolution.

 

The printer is Deskjet 4675. OS is Windows 10 X64 ver 1903.

 

I followed your previous advise and installed the HP Envy 7640 driver. This has solved the problem.
