HP Envy 4520
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP ENVY 4520 printer which was working fine on both of the laptops I have setup to use it.

I have not moved either laptops or printer, my router is the same one in the same place, but for some reason I can no longer connect to the printer from one of the laptops.

I have run HP Print and Scan Doctor several times and although I get to a screen where the printer shows up so I can select it I end up back at the 'cannot connect' error.

On the other laptop the printer works perfectly.

I am definitely not technical but am usually OK at doing normal PC/Printer stuff but am completely stumped and would appreciate any advice available.

Thanks

Kay

Hey @Kay_Thomas,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you are having some issues with printing from a Windows 7 PC to your Evny 4520 e-All-In-One Printer. I can help you with that.

Here's how we will sort out this issue:

  1. Turn the printer and the PC that is not printing properly off.
  2. Remove the power cord from the back of the router for one minute.
  3. When all the lights return on the router, turn the printer and the PC back on.
  4. On the PC click on Start and Devices and Printers.
  5. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
  6. Click on Remove Device.
  7. Repeat for any other icons of your printer listed.
  8. Click on Add Printer.
  9. Select your printer from the list and follow the prompts to add your print queue to your PC.

At this point you should be able to print. If you can not, please let me know what happened while following my directions and I will be able to assist you further.

Please let me know if this allows you to print or if you have any other questions. Otherwise, have a great week!

My printer will not connect to my Macbook Pro laptop either wireless or direct connect. It worked fine yesterday but today it shows "no Connection. Do you have a magic bullet or should I return it for a refund?

Only my laptop can print.  My notebook shows Envy in my wifi list but says it has no internet connection.  Anyone have a solution?
