HP Envy 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Envy 7155- constant connection issues.  the small screen on printer says it is connected wireless, however when trying to use scan or print, I get either an error message or not connected message.  Earlier today, HP Scan Doctor said it was connected and now it isn't.  Try to reload drivers and no internet connection found yet there are two strong networks in my home and desktop two feet from 7155 has strong signal.  HP Smart says there is a strong network but printer not installed.  It was working fine a few weeks ago, but then issues started.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

 

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

If the issue persists, create a TCP IP port

 

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)

2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and left-click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.

3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.

4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

I also had help from a friend who is a tech guy.   He assisted in ensuring the the printers IP address would remain fixed, so the computer would easily communicate with it. I think that is what he said.  I can fix a car, but not this stuff.  : )

I have another question.  When printing text, every other line is faded.  I have run the clean cartridge twice and it is still faded, Any ideas?  I have put this question out as a post already. no fix yet.
