HP Envy 5000 All in One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Whenever the printer is booting up, the loading bar on the touchscreen gets all the way to the end of the bar and then nothing. It get's stuck completely and will not move on or change screen.

I have turned off the power and back on, restarted router, generated a new TCP/IP port and done every suggestion that the HP Virtual Assistant suggests.

Any suggestions are more than welcome!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is not booting.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Remove USB cable, if present.
  3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If you continue facing the issue, then update the printer firmware following the steps in the below article.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi The_Fossette,

Thank you for your reply,

Unfortunately I still have the problem and the printer will not boot.

Also, how can I update the firmware on the printer if it won't boot? The HP Smart App says the printer is offline and I can't use any of the buttons on the printer itself due to it obviously not booting.
