I have an iMac with a Sonoma 14.0 operating system.  When the new system update occurred, my HPEnvy 5540 printer disappeared and Apple can't reconnect the scanning operation   Any help out theee??

This is new Mac OS and 14 is not listed yet for your Envy 5540 .

Possibly 'hp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4.pkg'  and other "work-arounds" will work as described here

Couldn't get it to work after spending 3 hrs. with Apple Senior Support and on HP website and your suggestion  Giving up and buying a new printer.  Thanks.
