HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M455

Good Morning,

During covid, our 10 year old LaserJet needed replacement. I bought the above printer, but due to supply chain issues, only the local version was available, and I purchased it unbeknownst to me. I've wanted to make it a network printer and found the HP Jet Direct Wireless converter.

I bought it, installed it and it seems like all was good. However, after a day or two the printer is always in offline mode, and I'm not able to use it. I have to uninstall and reinstall it. This has been going on for 2-3 months and is a pain. Am I doing something wrong? What can I do to get this to work consistently?

Thanks,

        Hello IlliniDodgers ,

You will have to uninstall and reinstall this printer with the new full HP driver:

52.2.491877.9 MB11 nov. 2021Télécharger

Uninstall the old driver in Control Panel, "Programs and Features", then remove

all occurrences in Program and Program X86, in Control Panel, right click on your old printer (If it is still there, chances are that it is no longer there) ''Remove'' if it is present.

Restart the PC, connect the printer to the mains, connect a USB cord on the PC side, on the printer you

will connect during installation ONLY when prompted.

Start installing your printer, by right-clicking on the Setup. downloaded driver exe, installed ''en

as administrator'', let the installation take place, at the end, restart the PC.

To create a shortcut on the Windows desktop, open Control Panel, right-click on your

new printer, create shortcut, on the desktop, yes.

A new shortcut has been created on the Windows desktop.

Turn on your printer, print a test page. That's it, your printer is working again.

        Excellent Day.

Thanks, Bernard42. I'll try this. Before I do, you mentioned connecting the printer with a USB cord - you mean a USB printer cable? I thought we're setting this up as wireless. You mentioned "only when prompted". I want to be sure I have everything I need to install this.

I'll also need to do this same procedure on every computer on my network that will use this printer, correct?

Thanks,

         Hello IlliniDodgers,

You install it with the USB cable and then you transform into HIFI by typing the name and password of your network: How to reconnect a printer via Wi-Fi? name name and Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router. Navigate to the Setup, Network, or Wireless Settings menu, and then select Wireless Setup Wizard. Select your network name, then enter the password to complete the connection. The newly installed printer, you network it with the other PCs or you reinstall the printer in each PC.

        Excellent Day.

Thanks, that does make sense. Just for clarification, which port will the USB cable go into?  It should be the middle slot,  correct? If so, I found the correct cable. The top slot is my Jet Direct hub. IMG_2245.jpeg

I've tried your advise, and get this error:

Any advise?
