We have an HP LaserJet Enterprise M605 installed on a print server on our domain. We have no issues with it besides that it will install the HP Smart app on the computers that use it. I have gotten the attached image multiple times in a day and sometimes not at all in a day. Even if I uninstall HP Smart from my computer, it will eventually get installed back. I'm not sure why this is happening, but I've read that other printers can automatically install HP Smart if that feature is enabled. Is there a setting that we can turn off so that HP Smart isn't installed on our computers anymore?

I would start by disabling the WSD print protocol through the embedded web server of the printer. It is under network settings tab. It is good practice to disable all unused protocols such as IPX/ SPX, AppleTalk and others.

I made the change a couple days ago and haven't seen HP Smart come back yet. It seems like this fixed the issue currently. I'll mark your post as the correct answer next week if it's still working.
