Hi @bill1949usmc

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it must be to have your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe suddenly go offline after working fine for over a year.

Since both wired and wireless connections are set up but the printer remains offline, let's go through some troubleshooting steps.

1. Restart Printer & Network Devices

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then turn on the router first.
  • Once the router is fully online, turn on the printer and computer.

2. Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to SetupNetwork Settings.
  • Select Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

3. Check Printer Status in Windows

  • Open Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdweSee what's printing.
  • Click Printer → Ensure Use Printer Offline is unchecked.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support page for your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe.
  • Download and install the latest firmware update.

5. Reinstall the Printer

  • Open SettingsDevicesPrinters & Scanners.
  • Remove the printer and restart your computer.
  • Add the printer again using Add a Printer or Scanner.

Let me know if any of these steps help! I appreciate your patience while we work through this.
