Removed printer from list.

Downloaded printer driver, but during installation kept getting an error 32 message.

Disconnected printer power, and USB connection from computer.

Updated firmware

And still not working.

Hi @reminc1125,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Error 32 on the HP LaserJet MFP M28–M31 usually points to a driver or communication fault rather than a hardware failure. Before replacing the printer, there are several advanced steps you can try to restore functionality.

Remove and reseat the toner cartridge

Remove the toner cartridge from the printer, remove the packing materials, and then reseat the cartridge.

Open the toner cartridge access door.

Remove the packing tape from inside the printer.

Removing the packing tape

Remove the toner cartridge.

Remove the clips from the toner cartridge.

Grasp both sides of the toner cartridge, and then gently rock the toner cartridge back and forth to distribute the toner.

Pull the orange tab to remove the sealing tape from the toner cartridge.

Align the toner cartridge with the tracks inside the printer, and then push the toner cartridge until it is firmly seated.

Close the toner cartridge access door.

Check Paper Feed: If it's a "paper not picking up" issue, check for foreign objects inside the tray or clean the rubber rollers, which can prevent paper jams

Clean Driver Installation: Uninstall all HP software and drivers, then restart your computer to clear any lingering processes. Download and install the HP Easy Start printer setup software (Full Feature Software)

Firmware/Driver Update:

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
