I have a HP OfficeJet 3830 series printer. 

Each time I change any of the settings such as paper size or type of paper, the document prints out in greyscale.

I have checked and double checked all settings.  I have removed the device from my laptop and reinstalled the drivers countless times but still the same problem keeps coming up. This is every single time I try and change a setting.  It's making the printer almost useless.

All was going great  until unfortunately my HP laptop broke so had to replace quickly.  I bought an ASUS gaming laptop to cope with demands of Photoshop functionality.  The laptop is ok but this is when I started having printing nightmares!!! 

I'm concerned that if I buy a new HP printer, I will still have the same problems. 

What can I do?  It is driving me insane!!

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

 

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.
