Hello,
Our printer is getting regular offline, is there any stup where i can change the time when he gets offline?
He is wired connected.
When he is offline it takes a minute or 2 and then he will print.

Hi @KeiMep123,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
When your HP OfficeJet Pro 8134e goes "offline" intermittently—even over a wired (Ethernet) connection—this usually points to a power-saving, driver, or network communication timeout issue, rather than a setting that allows you to adjust a specific "offline timeout" duration.
Here’s how you can troubleshoot and reduce or eliminate the delay:
1. Disable Printer Power-Saving Mode
Some HP printers go into a low-power or sleep mode to save energy, which can cause a delay before printing.
- Open Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Find the printer’s IP address from the printer’s control panel under Network Settings.
- Type that IP address into a web browser on your PC.
- Navigate to Settings > Power Management or Energy Settings.
- Set Sleep Mode or Auto Off to a higher value or disable it.
2. Set the Printer to Use a Static IP Address
Dynamic IPs can change and cause communication delays.
- On your printer:
- Go to Network > Ethernet Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Change IP Configuration from Automatic (DHCP) to Manual.
- Set a static IP address (use the current one to avoid conflicts).
- On your PC:
- Open the printer’s settings in Devices and Printers, select your printer, then Properties > Ports.
- Click Configure Port and ensure the Static IP address is listed there.
3. Disable SNMP Status Monitoring (Windows)
This can eliminate false “offline” status reports.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP printer > Printer Properties > Ports tab.
- Select the port with a checkmark > click Configure Port.
- Uncheck “SNMP Status Enabled” > click OK.
4. Disable “Allow the computer to turn off this device” for Ethernet
Sometimes Windows puts the network adapter into a low-power state.
- Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters > right-click your Ethernet adapter > Properties.
- Go to Power Management tab > Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

It looks like the first option is the best, but i will wait a while to look if it is solved.
Strangly enough i got a very strange error after changed this, it had a problem with the print head. See the picture
I don't know what to do with it.

Hi @KeiMep123,
Thank you for letting me know. Please try the steps below and let me know if this helps.
Please remove the Cartridges from the Printer if possible, and try a Hard Reset. Do keep us posted to help you better
** Hard reset:
1. Turn the printer on if it is not already on.
2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8. Turn on the printer if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
HP Smart App: Please uninstall the HP Smart app --> restart the Device, Wi-Fi router and printer --> reinstall it back and add the printer.
HP Firmware Update: Please update the Firmware from the link. This will help to update the firmware on the printer or devices.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
