Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi - I am having an issue with the printer driver for my HP Officejet PRO 9012e. I've gone through all steps to try and add it but only the DIRECT option appears - eg. DIRECT -CF-HP Officejet Pro 9010.

I have run the troubleshooter and it says nothing can be found, I've done RUN devmgmt.msc and no printer driver is listed. I've tried downloading the driver from the website, I've also tried the driver Dr tool.
I've tried 'my device wasn't listed'. I've tried reseting network settings and powering down the printer, computer and router.

I've tried adding through wireless, through IP address etc. I've tried through HP Easy Start.

Please help! Thanks in advance!

Hello 19LAC79,

Download the HP Full driver, which is 411.2 MB and HP Easy printer Septup which is 16.4 MB, then follow the Procedure, which I describe, below.

HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver

51.9.5975
411.2 MBSep 7, 2023Download

HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software (Internet connection required for driver installation)

16.1.9
16.4 MBSep 14, 2023Download

      Procedure :

You need to uninstall the old driver from your printer. In the Windows Control Panel, in "Programs and Features", then right-click on the printer row, click "Delete".

Delete all the names that have a link with your old printer, which you will find in: Program and X86 Program, then, in the Control Panel,

right-click on your old printer (If it is still there, there are high chance that it is no longer there) there "Delete" if it is present, continue.

Restart the PC. At the end of the reboot, connect the printer to the power supply, turn it on, then connect a USB cord: on one side of the PC,

the other side on the printer, during installation ONLY when you are invited to do so. (Towards the end of the installation).

Start installing your printer, by right clicking on the setup.exe, from the downloaded driver, click on ''installed as administrator'',

let the printer install itself, at the end of the installation, restart the PC. To create a shortcut for your printer,

on the Windows desktop, (to access your printer's menu), open the Windows Control Panel, right-click on the icon of your new printer,

create a shortcut, on the desktop, click yes. A new shortcut has been created on the Windows desktop.

Open the Windows desktop, left-click on the newly created shortcut, a printer menu appears (See below) with "ink levels",

possibility: to print, scan, fax, and digitize, by clicking on it. If it works, you can delete the old shortcut on the Windows desktop.

Here's how to access the Control Panel, for those who don't have the Control Panel shortcut :

**To test, turn on your printer, print a test page, by clicking on “Personalize your printer”, ''Print a test page''.

The test page prints. That's it, your printer is working again.

Please click "Accepted Solution" if you think my post solved your problem,

this will help others find the solution.

Click “Congratulations / Thumbs Up” at the bottom right to say “Thank you” for your help!

             Sincerely,
