Hi @Steve61NC,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
If the HP Smart app isn't loading properly for your HP ENVY Photo 7800, even after reinstalling, try these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check for Updates:
- Ensure that both the HP Smart app and your operating system are updated to their latest versions.
Clear Cache and Data:
- On Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Data.
- On Mac: Go to Finder > Applications > HP Smart > right-click and select Show Package Contents > Contents > Resources and delete the cache files.
Check Internet Connection:
- Make sure your internet connection is stable. Sometimes connectivity issues can prevent HP Smart from loading.
Firewall/Antivirus Settings:
- Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking HP Smart. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer.
- Download the latest drivers from the HP website and install them.
Reset Printer Network Settings:
- On the printer, go to the settings menu and look for network or wireless settings. Choose the option to restore network settings or perform a network reset.
Check HP Smart App Settings:
- Open the HP Smart app and go to Settings > Printer Settings. Ensure that your printer is correctly added and configured.
Try a Different Device:
- If possible, try installing and using HP Smart on a different device to see if the issue is specific to your current device.
If none of these steps work, there might be a deeper issue with the app or the printer.
We can try a Semi-full reset if the issue is with the printer.
The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
