HP Support Assistant caused my Windows Help and Support to stop working.

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I found several Internet articles stating that HP Support Assistant was the cause for my Windows Help and Support no longer working.

I uninstalled Support Assistant and my Windows Help and Support began working again.

Can I continue to use the Officejet Pro assistant (allows me to scan, send faxes and display ink cartridge status) without reinstalling Support Assistant? It is working for now. On the other hand, if I need to reinstall Support Assistant, how do I prevent it from breaking my Windows Help function?

The printer software (for your OfficeJet Pro printer) is not related to HP Support Assistant.

Windows 7 is no longer supported - there are unlikely any HP updates about which you need be concerned.

I doubt you need the HP Support Assistant - it is not mandatory software.

If you think (or know) you need software / drivers for your machine, get these from category Software and Drivers.
