Hi @Tricia49,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a connection issue with your HP Deskjet 4152e printer. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB. Try using a different USB port or cable to rule out a faulty connection.
- Verify that the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can usually check this directly on the printer's display panel.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Make sure to completely uninstall the printer from your computer before reinstalling it. This includes removing any related software.
- Download the latest drivers for the HP Deskjet 4152e from the official HP website. Install the drivers and then connect the printer to see if it is recognized.
Set as Default Printer:
- Go to your computer’s control panel or settings and make sure the HP Deskjet 4152e is set as the default printer. This ensures that print jobs are sent to the right printer.
Check Print Spooler:
- Ensure that the print spooler service on your computer is running. You can do this by going to the Services app (you can search for it in the Start menu), finding the 'Print Spooler' service, and making sure it's set to 'Automatic' and running.
Printer Network Configuration:
- If you're trying to print over the network, consider printing a network configuration report from the printer’s control panel. This can help verify the network settings.
- Ensure there are no IP conflicts and that the printer is on the same network subnet as your computer.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look for any error messages on the printer or computer. Sometimes, these can provide clues about what might be wrong.
Try a Different Device:
- Try printing from a different computer or a mobile device to determine if the issue is with the computer or the printer itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
