Hello all,
I updated my MacBook to MacOS 15.2 Sequoia.
Just plugged in my HP LaserJet P1102w in our new office.
Of course this thing wouldn't connect. So I reset the basterd hoping to be able to make it connect to our new network.
Of course things never work out of the box. So I went to the HP website and downloaded the latest driver. HP printer drivers.
Now I try to install this crap and it gives me a nice message: This software can only be used on MacOS 15.0 or older... what the actual f*ck?
How can I get this printer running?
I also tried connecting it to my MacBook with USB. It connects, finds the printer, sends the print-job, but it does not print. My Mac says it's done printing, but nothing came out..
The iOS app also doesn't work, because my printer somehow doesn't want to transmit its own SSID anymore.
When I print the test-page it says that Direct Print has been turned off. And it gives me his SSID but it happily says its not transmitting it.. So I can't connect to it.
How can I get this marvellous piece of engineering working again?
Thanks

Ok, if that doesn´t work you can try with a Printer basic driver:
But also you can follow steps from the next Apple link:

Hi @Broodje_beleg ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're encountering several issues with your HP LaserJet P1102w and its compatibility with macOS 15.2 (Sequoia). Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve these problems:
1. Check for macOS 15.2 Compatibility:
Since the HP drivers you downloaded are not working with macOS 15.2, it's possible that they haven't been updated to support newer versions of macOS. HP often releases updated drivers and software, but sometimes these updates lag behind macOS version changes.
- HP Software and Drivers:
- Visit the official HP support website, and search for your printer model (HP LaserJet P1102w).
- Check if there's an updated driver or software version that supports macOS 15.2 or newer. If there isn't one, you may have to rely on macOS's built-in printer drivers.
2. Using macOS's Built-In Printer Drivers:
macOS usually supports many printers, including older HP models, through its built-in drivers. To install your printer with the built-in macOS drivers:
- USB Connection:
- Connect your HP LaserJet P1102w to your Mac via USB.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add a printer.
- Select your HP LaserJet P1102w from the list of available printers.
- macOS should automatically select a driver. Choose it and proceed with the installation.
- Wi-Fi Connection: If your printer supports Wi-Fi and you want to connect it wirelessly:
- Reset the network settings on the printer to default (check the manual for how to reset the wireless settings).
- Follow the instructions on your printer to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network. You may need to use a computer or mobile device to complete the setup.
- Once connected to the network, try adding the printer again through Printers & Scanners in System Preferences as described above.
3. Direct Print (Wi-Fi Direct) Issues:
If your printer isn't broadcasting its SSID and Direct Print is disabled, try resetting the printer's network settings again. Sometimes printers can lose settings after a reset.
- Resetting the Printer's Network Settings:
- Power off the printer.
- Hold the Wireless button and Cancel button at the same time for about 10 seconds, then release both.
- The printer should now be in its default network mode and ready to connect.
- Try connecting it again via USB or through your Wi-Fi network.
4. Troubleshooting USB Printing:
If the printer is connected via USB and the job appears to be sent but doesn't print, try the following:
- Reboot your Mac to ensure there are no software conflicts.
- Check the Print Queue in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners to see if the print job is stuck or paused.
- If the printer is recognized but not printing, it might be worth trying to remove and re-add the printer to see if that clears the issue
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I ran into this issue as well. I dug into the problem, and it looks like the installer for the driver is written poorly and checks the OS version number wrong. The computer I had problems with was on 15.0.1, and a minor OS update should not break a driver.
Anyways, I edited the install script for the driver and removed the version check entirely. You can get the file on my drive here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TmoBZy_MzP3moaF1Rq9gUdWKUUkdq-o5/
