HP not finding my serial number from my Deskjet 8600

I'm getting real aggravated trying to get information for my Deskjet 8600.  HP says enter a valid Serial Number.  I entered it at least 10 times.  There are no digits that could be entered wrong.  This is the worst product support I have ever seen.  You can't get support unless you put the serial number in.  Hey support, do you want a picture of my number.  Give me an email address so I can send it to you.

The serial number support finder works only for new printers; old models like yours 8600 are not supported anymore, that's why it can't be found.

Thank you for responding.  While I don't feel my printer is that old and is in perfect working condition.  Where does HP expect people like me to get drivers and scanning software.  I have another computer running Windows 10 and will be updating to 11 and will not be replacing a printer that works perfect.
