I have brand new HP cartridges.  I have been printing out but my black ink cartridge has not been printing in the last 2 days - I have cleaned print heads, etc.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

I'm having the exact same issue that everyone else is having with HP 6978 officejetpro which is my printer will not print black ink.  This seems to be a HUGE problem for HP 6978 printer but HP is not addressing this problem directly and is just redirecting their responses back to their virtual assistant solutions that DO NOT WORK.  I live in Los Angeles and called every service center that HP provided on their website and every provider said NO they will not work on the HP 6978 officejetpro.  I've had this printer for 3 years and have printed less than 300 pages on it.  I've spent more on ink than I have for the actual printer.  I absolutely would NEVER buy an HP product again after buying this printer.  Their product and service is absolutely horrible.
