I'm old, simple and in no way tech savvy. Having had to upgrade the computer and now dealing with Win 10, (Uck!!), I have had to replace all my peripherals. Gifted a HP Deskjet 3636 scanner printer I have followed the self contradictory instructions to attempt to connect them together via a USB cable.
I have no wish to start playing with wireless.
Everything worked fine with Win 7 and my trustey HP photosmart 7150 and nice simple cables.
I had to use HPsmart, which repeatedly fails to achieve the connection.
I have tried all the combinations of cable connected not connected etc to no avail.
The HP virtual agent is no use and does not issue the code that would allow me to access HP Support.
So can anyone help me please?
If I'm being dumb I'm sorry, but after 2 hours I'm tired, hacked off and wondering why it all has to be so complicated.
What ever happened to Windows having the drivers and just connecting?
