HP DeskJet 3633 All-in-One Printer

Hi,

my printer seems to have a set Admin password, but I cannot remember setting up one.

Anyway, can anyone please tell me if its possible to reset the Admin password?

I tried to reset the network and the complete printer, the Admin password is still there and I cannot remember it.

Thank you

Hi @07713,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can understand your issue, and yes, you can reset the admin password on your HP DeskJet 3633 All-in-One Printer, although it may require a full printer reset to factory defaults. Here's how you can proceed:

Steps to Reset Admin Password on HP DeskJet 3633:

Restore Network Settings (if not already done):

  1. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
  2. This will reset the wireless settings, including any custom admin credentials related to Wi-Fi Direct or embedded web server access.

Full Factory Reset (if admin password persists):

HP doesn’t officially publish a factory reset method for all DeskJet models, but here’s a commonly used method:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Power button.
  3. While holding Power, press the Cancel button 6 times, then the Wireless button 6 times.
  4. Release the Power button.
  5. The printer should restart and reset to factory defaults.

⚠️ This will erase all settings, including Wi-Fi, custom preferences, and admin credentials

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,

im sorry, but the factory reset key combo did nothing, the printer just started normally and connected to my wifi after i did that.

Hi @07713,

Thank you for the follow-up, and no need to apologise! 😊

It sounds like the key combination didn’t trigger a full factory reset, but the good news is — your printer connected to Wi-Fi successfully afterwards, which is a positive outcome!

Let us know if everything’s working as expected now or if you need help with setup, HP Smart, or printing/scanning features. We're happy to assist!

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,

sorry again, but my problem is not solved.

I still have an Admin password set and i have no idea what it is.

I need to reset the Admin password and the key combination you gave me did nothing.

In fact, i don't even think the printer recognized the jey combination at all, since it didn't reset anything at all..

greetings
