Hi @Softailmsg,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Adding an HP printer icon to your desktop in Windows 11 can make accessing printer features easier. Here’s how you can do it:

Check if the HP Printer Software is Installed:

  • Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps and search for HP software.
  • If not installed, download and install the HP Smart app or full-feature printer software from the HP Support website.

Create a Shortcut from the HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app (search for it in the Start menu).
  • If the app doesn’t create an icon on your desktop during installation, follow these steps:
    • Right-click the HP Smart app in the Start menu.
    • Select Open file location.
    • In the File Explorer window, find the HP Smart app shortcut.
    • Right-click the shortcut, select Show more options > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

Create a Printer Shortcut via Control Panel:

  • Press Windows + S to open the search bar and type Control Panel, then open it.
  • Go to Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP printer and select Create shortcut.
    • A message will appear saying, "Windows can't create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?"
    • Click Yes to place the shortcut on the desktop.

Use the Printer Folder Directly:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type shell:PrintersFolder and press Enter.
  • Drag your HP printer to the desktop to create a shortcut.

Manually Create a Shortcut to HP Software:

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
