@cecenjeff, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Obtaining the Printer Claim Code for HP Deskjet 2548 All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are unable to print the welcome page on your HP Deskjet 2548 All-in-One printer, you can manually obtain the claim code using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) on your printer.

Steps to Obtain the Printer Claim Code:

1. Find the Printer IP Address:

You need to access the EWS, and for that, you will need the printer’s IP address.

  • For printers with a control panel display: Navigate to the Network Setup or Network Settings menu to find the IP address.
  • For printers without a control panel display: Print a Network Configuration or self-test page by pressing and holding the Wireless button and Information button simultaneously until a report prints. The IP address will be listed on the report.

2. Open the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser on your computer.
  • Type the printer IP address into the browser's address bar and press Enter. This will open the EWS.

3. Turn On Web Services:

If Web Services are not already enabled, you need to enable them:

  • On the EWS home page, click the Web Services tab.
  • Click Continue, Turn On, or Enable and follow the on-screen instructions to activate Web Services.

Clicking Continue on the Web Services tab

4. Obtain the Claim Code:

After enabling Web Services, an information page that contains the claim code will print automatically. If it doesn’t print, you can manually print it from the Web Services Summary screen.

  • Find the claim code on the information page. It is usually located below the printer’s HP ePrint email address.

5. Use the Claim Code:

To add your printer using the claim code:

  • Go to the HP Smart website, create an account or sign in.
  • Type the claim code on the Add a Printer web page and click Add.

Entering the claim code

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
