HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer

My HP Envy 4520 All-in-One Printer broke and is not repairable.  I purchased a new HP printer and went through all the installation steps.  However, when I print HP Smart still wants to print to my broken printer.  I re-installed HP Smart and it may work now, however, my old printer still shows up.  It is completely unplugged but it even shows it is on-line.  How can I delete it from the HP Smart App completely to avoid future issues?

In HP Smart, right-click on your broken printer, select Hide Printer, and follow prompts.  You will also need to delete the printer from your HP Account, per prompt.

Thank you!  That worked perfectly.

HP Smart - Windows or Mobile - has a place to remove an unwanted printer from the app.

The setting is called "Hide Printer"

Next,

If there is a way to get HP Support Assistant to let go of an unwanted device, there might be something in the HPSA "Settings".

Assuming the printer is not still lurking on the network and waiting to be discovered again,

Another method:

Uninstall the HP Support Assistant

Restart the computer and log in

Download / Install a fresh copy of the HP Support Assistant.
