HP LaserJet MFP M140we Printer
Chrome OS

How do I set up my LaserJet MFP M140we printer on a Chromebox using the USB cable? I've been trying to set it up since I got it on April 5, 2022.

Only USB is not possible, that printer model requires constant internet connection.

You need to connect the printer to a wireless network with internet access. Download and run HP smart and register the printer with your HP account. When registered and connected to the internet you can connect it with a USB.

The HP Smart website says that in order to set up my printer, I need to give them my "printer claim code." It says that my printer claim code is found on the "Web Services Info page" which I have to print out. But I can't print out the "Web Services Info page" because my printer won't print out anything because isn't set up yet.

The control panel on my LaserJet MFP M140we printer doesn't have an i button. It has no number buttons, no letter buttons, and only eight buttons that, other than the power button, all seem to be for photocopying.

You need to use HP Smart app https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8ERifmVbqE
