I have a laptop macOS Mojave, version 10.14.6 which is served by a wireless home network. I would like to connect it to an HP LaserJet P1006 printer. How do I find and load the necessary driver(s) to accomplish this?

Hi @BJH10,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP LaserJet P1006 is a basic monochrome laser printer, and HP provides official drivers for macOS. Here are the steps to connect your wireless Mac to the HP LaserJet P1006.
Check Compatibility: Ensure that your macOS version is compatible with the HP LaserJet P1006. HP provides drivers for macOS up to version 10.14 (Mojave). If you've updated your macOS since then, check the HP website for updated drivers.
Connect the Printer:
- Turn on the HP LaserJet P1006 and make sure it is within range of your wireless network.
- Connect the printer to your wireless network using the printer's built-in menu or control panel. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions.
Download the Driver:
- Visit the official HP support website: HP LaserJet P1006 Printer - Software and Driver Downloads
- Enter your macOS version and follow the on-screen instructions to download the appropriate driver.
Install the Driver:
- Once the driver is downloaded, open the installer package.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Add the Printer:
- Open "System Preferences" on your Mac.
- Click on "Printers & Scanners."
- Click the '+' button to add a new printer.
- Your HP LaserJet P1006 should appear in the list of available printers. Select it and click "Add."
Configure Printer Settings:
- Once added, you may need to configure the printer settings. Click on the printer in the list, and you should see options for paper size, orientation, etc.
Print a Test Page:
- To ensure that the setup is successful, print a test page. You can usually do this from the printer settings in the Printers & Scanners section of System Preferences.
Troubleshooting:
- If you encounter any issues, check HP's support documentation for troubleshooting steps.
- Ensure that your Mac is connected to the same wireless network as the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
