I need to speak to a human. The virtual assistant was no help. The printer was bought new at Staples and appeared to be pristine in an unopened box, with all the packing film, blue tape, and other new printer arrangements -- even that orange plastic thing in the printheads area.

Thank you, Valsimot. The warranty dispute form looks like it would have helped, but before I got your response I was able to speak to an actual human by calling 1-800-474-6836.

 

The service rep was able to walk me through the proper steps, which included sending a scan of my receipt to him. I need to wait until tomorrow to check back to see if the warranty error has been resolved.

 

I wish HP made it easier to speak to a rep or have on online chat that doesn't just send you to a bot that apparently has never encountered your particular issue.
