HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried to print pictures, A3 size, and with various file types; PDF; JPEG; PNG; Affinity; Serif; Windows etc, but only the PNG type files will produce any colour, all of the other file types printed in black and white. 

I am using the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Series

Can you confirm what driver you are using please.

Method of install can result in different versions of drivers being installed. With 4 installation options on the HP support site it is possible that you might have one of several drivers. On you computer, go to control panel>devices and printers and right click on the icon for your printer and then click on the advanced tab which will show the driver that is installed.
