I understand how frustrating it can be when your new HP printer is set up but won’t print from another device. That moment when everything looks ready, but nothing happens, it’s confusing and disruptive.

Let’s walk through a few quick steps to help you get printing from your other device.

Steps to Enable Printing from Another Device

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your other device.
  • You can confirm this on the printer’s control panel under Network Settings > Wi-Fi Status.


2. Install HP App


3. Enable Print Anywhere (Optional)

  • If your printer supports HP+ features, you can enable Print Anywhere in the HP app to print remotely.


4. Check for Driver Installation (Windows/macOS)

  • On a computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • If your printer is not listed, click Add a printer.
  • If listed, try printing a test page.


5. Restart Devices

  • Restart both the printer and the device you’re trying to print from.
  • This often resolves temporary communication issues.
