I gave my printer to my grandson, he cannot get it set up because of my previous - now expired - account. How do I get lose of my previous information so he can set it up?

Apologies for the trouble—your grandson should be able to set up the HP ENVY 6065e without being blocked by the expired Instant Ink account. Here’s how to remove the previous information:

 

Steps to Reset the Printer for a New User

 

Reset the Printer to Factory Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
  • Select Restore Factory Defaults to erase previous settings.

 

Remove the Printer from Your HP Account

  • Log into your HP Instant Ink account at HP Smart.
  • Navigate to My Account > Manage Subscription > Cancel Subscription (if not already canceled).
  • Remove the printer from your account.

 

Reconnect the Printer for Your Grandson

  • He should download HP Smart on his Mac and follow the setup instructions.
  • If needed, he can create a new HP account to register the printer.

 

Once the printer is reset and removed from your account, your grandson should be able to set it up without issues.
