I have moved country and want to reset my Officejet 4630 to accept UK cartridges

HP Recommended
Officejet 4630
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Have moved from Australia back to UK and have purchased HP 301 cartridges which were compatible with the Officejet 4630 that I have but they do not work, I have tried changing the settings on the printer but still no luck. I'm told I need to contact HP to go through the process but navigating the website is a nightmare so any help would be welcome.

Hi @Gregso

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

HP customizes some printers and ink cartridges to meet local customer needs. If you take your printer from one country/region to another country/region, you might not find ink cartridges with the same number on the label as your original ink cartridges. If you install an ink cartridge with a different number on the label, you might see one of the following error messages:

  • Incompatible Cartridges

  • Cartridge Not Intended for this Printer

  • Incorrect Cartridges

Find below the compatible ink cartridges according to the regions:

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
