LaserJet Pro M15w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Device recently bought and connected (by USB cable) to desktop, wirelessly to laptop.

Desktop printer icon named as M15w (xxxxxx).

But laptop printer icon named as M14-17.

I expected _same_ main name, to be 'M15w' (because that is exact printer model name).

Any idea's why different?

They are from the same series of M14-M17 that covers several printer models. The wireless installation covers mode models than a direct USB installation.

OK. I understand why it has arisen, but shouldn't the wireless installation program have _precisely_ identified the model printer it was connecting to, and picked a _precise_ name, rather than using a range?

Just seems a bit lazy (and a bit confusing to the user) to me.
