macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Tried everything multiple times, incl virtual assistant.  Still get the incompatible black start up cartridge message.  Have tried phoning hp dozens of times & get "call did not go through" or "all circuits busy" brush off.  Trying to run a business.  Need to print.

Are you trying to setup the printer for the first time?

Make sure you are using the ink cartridges that came with the printer. 

Check if the plastic tape if any, is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer.

 

  • The ink cartridges that go with the printers are setup ink cartridges that are designed to initialize the printer.
  • These are not available in stores for sale.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge

 

If the error persists, you may get a replacement printer from the place where you bought it, or please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
