Was using Instant Ink was receiving ink after cartridges where empty. Canceled Instant Ink. Replaced cartridges. HP locked my printer until I signed up with Instant Ink. Printer is my property I purchased HP ink cartridges my property. You have no right to lock up my printer. Since you thought that was a good idea. I will no longer buy HP computers or printers. Have purchased a Canon printer already.
Someone needs to look into this taking control of your customer printers or computers just because we changed our minds on how we want to run our printers or computers

@GLB7, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Instant Ink!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Understanding HP Instant Ink:
Ink Subscription Service: HP Instant Ink is a subscription-based service where you receive ink cartridges prior to running out, based on your printing volume. The service allows for optimized convenience and cost-efficiency for users who print frequently.
Printer Enrollment: Once you enroll in the Instant Ink program, your printer is configured to use Instant Ink cartridges. These cartridges are provided as part of the subscription and are specifically meant for use only while subscribed.
Cancellation: If you cancel your Instant Ink subscription, you may need to replace the Instant Ink cartridges. The printer requires Original HP cartridges that are purchased separately to continue functioning.
Resolving Printer Locking Issues:
Switch to Original HP Cartridges: Upon cancellation, ensure you are using Original HP cartridges (not Instant Ink cartridges) to avoid restrictions. The printer expects cartridges that are not tied to the subscription model.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
