Hello,

I just purchased a printer and received it today. I am trying to change the language setting and it keeps asking me for a pin that is visible on a printer. When I put the PIN code it says its invalid! so frustrating. Anyone else faced that issue?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

The Printer PIN can be found on a sticker when the cartridge access door is opened or you can press the "i" information button on the printer and it will print out a page with the PIN info as well.

Try either method to get the printer PIN.

However, in order to change the language in the Embedded Web server (EWS) page, there is no need for the PIN.

Language can be changed by going to the Settings > Printer Language Settings

If help is needed to access the EWS page, (assuming printer is connected to the network), this resource will be useful:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XnBaSWJDfo

It  shows how to get the IP address needed to access EWS page and where the PIN is.

Hope that helps!

Why the PIN keeps appearing as invalid though? I've found it on a sticker.

The printer buttons lights (wifi and on/off) keep on beeping too.

Hi

From the description, seems that the printer is in error state.

Can you power cycle the printer and ensure that it is in "Ready" state (no beeping sound)

Try to reset the printer and connect to network again.

Hello, I did what you've advised. The Wifi button is not on now, the printer is connected and PIN is still invalid. What should I do?

Hi @anna193829842

Press the Wifi button to turn it one and then use HP Smart on the phone to get it connected to the network.

Once the printer is connected, press the "i" button to get the IP address.

Key in the IP address to get into the Embedded Web Server page.  Then go to Settings and select "Printer Language Settings" to change the language.

Hope that helps!
