Microsoft Windows 11

I would like to ask for a solution such as hard reset of the mfp 135w printer to be released in specific dependent threads, so that I can send this message in other messages, can I ask for a solution in a private message?

After changing the router, my printer does not want to download the current address from DHCP, I have already tried all configurations, assigning a permanent IP, reconfiguring the router, the error is still the same, instead of downloading the IP address from WIFI in the network, it enters a different one. All I had left was a hard reset. Please provide information.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you want the hard reset instructions for the HP MFP 135w, here they are:

Hard Reset Instructions for HP MFP 135w

Power Off: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Wait: Leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds.

Reconnect: Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer control panel, press the Home button.
  • Navigate to Settings (gear icon) and select it.
  • Go to Network or Wireless Settings.
  • Look for the option to Restore Network Defaults or Reset Network Settings and confirm.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi: After resetting, you’ll need to set up your Wi-Fi connection again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Dear HP Support,

I am reaching out regarding my **HP Laser MFP 135w** printer, which is encountering persistent issues with obtaining an IP address via DHCP. Despite numerous troubleshooting attempts, the printer continues to assign itself a **169.254.x.x** address (link-local), which is outside the correct range for my network (192.168.x.x). As a result, it cannot connect properly to my network.

Here is a summary of the steps I have taken so far:

1. **Reset network settings**: I have restored the network settings to factory defaults via the printer's settings, but the issue persists.
2. **Manual IP Assignment**: I have tried assigning a static IP address within the router’s DHCP range (e.g., 192.168.0.x), but the printer still fails to connect properly to the network.
3. **WPS Connection**: I attempted to connect the printer via WPS, following the router's WPS setup instructions, but it continues to assign the link-local address.
4. **Network Configuration Checks**:
- Ensured the printer is connecting to a 2.4 GHz network (as it doesn't support 5 GHz).
- Verified that DHCP on the router is active and functioning correctly with other devices.
- Changed the Wi-Fi channel to less congested ones (channels 1, 6, or 11) to avoid interference.
5. **Firmware Update**: Ensured that both the router and the printer have the latest firmware versions.
6. **Multiple Router/Network Attempts**: The issue persists across different routers and networks, suggesting it is not network-specific.

### My main problem:
The printer cannot obtain a valid IP address via DHCP and continues to default to the **169.254.x.x** address. I suspect there may be a deeper issue with the printer's networking components.

### My question:
- Is there a **hard reset** method beyond the standard network reset I have already tried? I have not found any comprehensive documentation on performing a **full factory reset** that could potentially resolve the issue.
- Are there any advanced steps I can take to resolve the DHCP issue and allow the printer to properly obtain an IP address from my router?

Your guidance on this would be highly appreciated, as we have exhausted typical troubleshooting steps.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
