Laserjet P1005
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

So I have this old laserjet printer that was store for a while and recently start using it on Windows 10.

When I print on Avery labels, the printer is misaligned.  I tried changing manually the margins, remove and reinstall the printer, clean up the registry but still no luck.

I measure the offset and it seems that my printer think that it has to print on A4 format even if everything is set to letter.

The offset appears to be A4 settings.

I have another HP printer and this one works perfectly, printing the same document on both printer and the laserjet is always offset.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Hi @flavius007,

 I'd like to help!

To better assist you -

What are the size, type, and weight of the paper you are using?

To know the supported paper size and type, refer to printer specifications

Refer to the document to know how to change the printer settings -Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi!

I am using paper letter format 8.5"x11", white, 96 brilliance and 20lb

And also Avery labels 5160

I have tried my printer settings all points to Letter format paper or label 5160 when specified.

I completely uninstalled the printer even deleting registry settings and reinstall.

I have another HP printer, when I send a document on this one it prints properly but when I send it to the laserjet P1005 it prints as if I requested to print on A4 document.

I tried to factory reset the printer but did not found how to do it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

To print labels, use pre-formatted templates or the mailings feature in Microsoft Word, or use solutions from a label manufacturer.

  • Microsoft Word Mailings tools: In the top menu bar, click Mailings, and then click Labels.

In the Envelopes and Labels window, click Options, select your label brand from the Label vendors menu, select the Product number, and then click OK.

    NOTE:

To learn more about printing labels with the Mail Merge feature, go to Microsoft Office: Create and print labels using mail merge (in English).

Figure : Select Labels in the Microsoft Word Mailings menu

Select Labels in the Microsoft Word Mailings menu
  • Microsoft Word pre-formatted label templates: In Word, click File, click New, and then search for a label template.

  • Label vendor templates: Label companies such as Avery (in English) provide online tools and templates to print their labels for a cost. Check the label company's website for information and options.

Hope this helps, keep me posted!

Hi,

I know how to create and user labels thank you.

The printer prints offset as if I specified to print on A4 paper but everything is set to Letter.

Printing the same exact document or labels on my other HP printer is perfectly aligned.

So my HP Laserjet P1005 needs to be resetted or realigned or something but I dont know how to do it.

Thank you!
