Hello, it is possible that it thinks there is a fax job stuck in the queue and only happens after updating firmware or other hardware. try these steps below to see if this helps your issue. Its a 50/50 shot, but hope this helps.

 

Remove toner cartridge (this will get it out of the fax initializing error mode).

Press the Wrench button on the device and find "Fax Functions" and press "OK" button then find "Clear Saved Faxes" and press "OK".
