HP Officejet pro 8600 plus

HP Officejet pro 8600 reset without setup cartridges

 

I can not add this product to my profile. Do not know why.

 

Serial no: CN2AKBVJV5

 

My printer stopped working after replacing the cartridges with a "printer failure or ink" problem. I managed to get to the support menu and hard reset it but now it's stuck trying to setup but I don't have setup cartridges.

I made it. 😁

I put aluminum foil to shortcut the springs for the cartridges. 

See 2,30 min in to How to fix inksystem failure for HP 8600, 8610, 8620, 8630 Print Heads

 

Then I was able to:

- boot up

- On the home screes, press back-arrow four times (even though it is not visible) to enter the support menu

- scroll to system configuration menu

- select TradeatOOBE

- change to Trade

 

See Bypass USE SETUP CARTRIDGES message on HP Officejet 6978, 6962, 6968, 9015 Printer

Works the same on 8600

 

Then ,

- exit support menu

- take out print head to remove aluminium foil

- insert print head

- shut down and reboot.

Hi. 
Thanks for trying out. 

I will not buy new setup cartridges, since they cost more than a new printer with the same functionality as my old but very good 8600. 
(My original cartridges are gone since 10 years

nobody told me to keep them)

 

The quest is to get around this and break the loop I’m in where the printer won’t even boat up completely before I have “HP original setup cartridges”

 

If I’m able to boot up I know how to get into the service menu and reset cartridges and skip requirements.

However, It doesn’t even boot up enough to be able to reach the service menu using (4 x back) or ( home back home home).

 

Im simply stuck in  the video showing how to change patrons.
Remove power cord does not help. 

inserting power cord while holding power button doesn’t help. 

If anyone has a solution, I’m thrilled. 

I have seen the video with the guy putting aluminum foil to shortcut the springs for the cartridges. Someone wrote that is a way forward.

Considering that you do not want to purchase the missing accessory.
